Sometimes the most difficult part of painting is deciding what to paint next. I tend to paint the things that I love most, like landscapes and florals, but sometimes a curve ball is just the thing to sharpen those powers of perception.
This rusted out old Fargo truck was sitting on the boardwalk at Telegraph Cove, and it’s something that a person could easily pass by. When you look more closely at it though, it has wonderful shapes and spectacular colours…and I’m sure that it has a colourful story as well.
It’s on the easel at the moment, and I’m going to place it in a piece of alder forest, a forgotten piece of Vancouver Island history.
