Today is bread day. One day of every month is baking day, and I make enough buns and bread to last for the rest of the month.
I use an old tattered recipe, and one of the secret ingredients in it is lemon juice. For a five loaf quantity, I use two tablespoons of lemon juice and it acts as a fabulous dough improver.
Is there any smell better than bread baking, and any taste better than a slice of bread hot out of the oven? I don’t think so.
