The Ladysmith Fine Arts Show is a biennial juried exhibition that showcases both 2D and 3D fine art work, and I was thrilled to be selected as a participant this year, with two original watercolour paintings accepted.
This is the first year that the exhibition and its peripheral activities have been offered exclusively online, courtesy of Covid19, but the arts society has done an absolutely fantastic job in creating a rich and accessible online environment for both patrons and the artists.
At the virtual opening in February, my work Souvenir De L’ete was given the award for Best 2D Watercolour, and it was a great honour to have had a piece of my work recognized in this way.
I was also invited to participate in a virtual interview, and I welcomed the opportunity to speak to the virtual audience from my studio about the inspiration for my work. I invite you to watch this interview, which gives some insight into the two pieces that are being exhibited currently.
This fantastic exhibition runs until March 31st, and you have the option of scrolling through the work, or walking through a virtual online art gallery, where you can view the pieces hanging in a gallery environment.
