Each year at this time, thousands of Brant geese stop on our local shorelines to rest and feast before continuing on their magnificent migration to their Arctic breeding grounds. It’s a spectacular sight to see the flocks bobbing along the shore, and our community celebrates them each year with a month of nature inspired events during the Brant Wildlife Festival.
One of the festival events that I’m involved with is the Pacific Brant Carving and Art Show. Hundreds of carvers from the Pacific Northwest and beyond will be exhibiting their work and competing for prizes on April 6 and 7 in Parksville, and the associated art show draws a big crowd as well.
I will have two paintings exhibited at the show, and I’ll also be on site on one of the days as a volunteer. I hope you’ll stop by to take in some incredible west coast art…and to say hi!
